International "Guardians of Tradition" Award
The award at this second FéminAs congress goes to the "Picantera" Women's Association in Arequipa (Peru).
Taking up the torch from the Oaxaca Traditional Female Chefs' Association (Mexico), who won the first International "Guardians of Tradition" Award at the first FéminAs congress, this year Peru's "picantera" chefs will be acknowledged for extolling the virtues of ancestral products and basic procedures born and bred at the traditional "picantería" outlets in Arequipa.
