Manolo Rodríguez

Owner of the restaurant Fordaliz (Oballo, Asturias)

He lived in Madrid and worked as a salesman but a series of events made him return to his origins and build a restaurant in the heart of the Muniellos Forest.

Manolo Rodríguez, owner of Fordaliz, was born in Oubacho (Asturias) in 1961. When he was only three years old, the family emigrated to Madrid in search of opportunities. There, Manolo studies and begins a promising career in the commercial sector until, in 2013, after the divorce of his wife and the death of his mother, he makes the decision to quit his job, sell the house and return to the village where he was born in search of balance and a new way of approaching life.

After a few months, Manolo has a dream that will become his new life path: Fordaliz. His son Jose Manuel also leaves Madrid to participate in the project. In 2015 starts the restaurant Fordaliz, located in the middle of Muniellos Forest, with a clear culinary proposal, a mixture of traditional and creative cuisine without pretensions.
